Ecclesia catholica et ecclesia anglicana : an apology for the church of England; Bath, 1848.

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a rebuttal of a letter written by the Rev. John Foster. The author calls the letter a "vindication of dissent, or an exposure of the errors and corruptions of the Church of England." The treatise examines the principles of a universal catholic church; the forms and duties of civil government, especially that of Great Britain; the expediency and utility of a union of church and state; the inefficiency of the voluntary system, using its failure in America as an example; the history and workings of the Church of England; and the necessary evil of dissent.
